The Indiana Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center and Partners in Bleeding Disorders Education Program have announced a new education program designed for physicians who practice at federally funded hemophilia treatment centers (HTCs) in the U.S. The Partners Physician Academy (PPA) will focus specifically on supporting and accelerating third-and-fourth year fellows and junior physicians for up to two years post-fellowship.
The PPA will ultimately feature a week-long intensive training program that is intended to foster development of a physician network of highly respected mentors and provide new opportunities for growth, collaboration, and excellence in bleeding disorder care. Academy organizers have shared their intent to launch the program by the end of 2022.
“Our ongoing commitment to the bleeding disorders community is integral to our mission. This new initiative allows us to deepen our commitment to the community and develop new, collaborative opportunities to support continued mentorship through didactic presentations, discussion, and direct interaction with HTC leaders,” stated the PPA Advisory Board in a letter to the community. “Over the coming year and beyond, we look forward to the input and collaboration of our community in the continued development of our mission and our vision for the Partners Physician Academy.”
