The Partners in Bleeding Disorders Education Program recently launched a new online learning activity entitled, “Genetics of Hemophilia.” The target audience for this presentation includes nurses and other health care professionals who are part of a U.S. hemophilia treatment center (HTC), who are interested in learning more about the genetic aspects of the condition.
The module will enable the learner to gain detailed knowledge about the genetics of hemophilia A and B, including testing, prevalence, genotypes and phenotypes and inheritance patterns. Presenter Anne Goodeve, PhD, will also describe the primary purpose for undergoing genetic testing in hemophilia and the relationship between type of genetic mutation and disease severity.
This activity is provided for 1.0 contact hours under American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) criteria.
