The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), in collaboration with the International Antiviral Society-USA, have developed a website for the rapid dissemination of evidence-based, expert-developed recommendations for hepatitis C virus (HCV) management. The new website was launched to help providers stay abreast of the new drugs coming to market and the different mechanisms they use to treat HCV.
New sections will be added, and the recommendations will be updated on a regular basis as new information becomes available. An ongoing summary of "recent changes" will also be available for readers who want to be directed to updates and changes.
"In just the past three months, two new medications became available for treating HCV that hold a great deal of promise for patients living with this disease, and more are expected. HCVguidelines.org provides physicians with the latest information and informed guidance on the available treatment options based on a rigorous review of data," said Barbara Murray, MD, president of IDSA.
