The most recent online education from Medscape, “The Nurse View: Supporting Adults with Hemophilia,” became available on September 11, 2015. The goal of this activity is to discuss the unique challenges facing nurses who treat adults with hemophilia.
Participants who complete the program will be able to: 1) Describe strategies/considerations to optimize the plan of care for adults with hemophilia; 2) Identify issues that develop over the course of an adult’s lifetime, from adherence in the young adult to the increased risk for comorbidities in older adults; and 3) Outline nursing approaches to optimize mobility and control of bleeding in adult patients.
The series is presented through a strategic collaboration between the National Hemophilia Foundation and Medscape Education Hematology, and supported by an independent educational grant from Biogen. After completing the activities within this program, available for one year from their release date, those eligible may receive free continuing education (CE) or continuing medical education (CME) credits.
