The Obama Administration recently released a letter (available here) to insurers that will offer plans on the federally facilitated (FFE) and state partnership exchanges. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) letter provides details regarding what will be required for insurers offering plans in these marketplaces. As of March 12, 2013, 26 states are anticipated to have a federal exchange and seven states will operate a partnership exchange in 2014.
On March 15, 2013, NHF submitted a comment letter responding to the letter addressing policies concerning essential community providers, cost-sharing and prescription drug coverage. Most of our comments reiterate those we have made in previous letters on exchanges and essential health benefits (EHBs). To see the letter, click here. For a complete listing of the letters submitted by NHF so far, please go to our state and federal comment letter page found here.
