The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) recently announced a significant milestone in their Humanitarian Aid Program, as they celebrate the distribution of more than 1 billion international units (IUs) of factor replacement and non-factor replacement therapy products to bleeding disorder patients around the globe.
Since its inception in 1996, the WFH Humanitarian Aid Program has facilitated donations to 110 countries, ultimately reaching more than 20,000 patients. The program supports continued access to treatment for emergency situations, acute bleeds, corrective surgeries, and prophylaxis for young children.
Despite challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the program led to the distribution of 146 million IUs of treatment product in 2020.
