In January 2010, the Congressional Research Service released “The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program” a report summarizing the details of Ryan White program, reauthorized in October 2009. The federal Ryan White HIV/AIDs Program is named for an Indiana teenager with hemophilia who contracted HIV from contaminated blood products in the 1980s and died in 1990. It works with cities, states and local community-based organizations to provide HIV-related services.
