Healthcare professionals currently working in the hemophilia treatment center (HTC) network can now access an innovative Web resource portal with quality provider education. The Partners™ in Bleeding Disorders Education Program was created through a collaborative partnership between the Indiana Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center, the Hemophilia Foundation of Michigan and the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF). Modules on “Understanding Hemophilia” and “Comprehensive Care” are already posted online and available for CEU credit 24 hours/day, 7 days a week. Several additional modules will be made available by the end of this year. Many more will be developed for use in 2011.
The goal of this education program is to promote excellence in care through education, enhancing care provided by professionals within the federally funded HTC network and ensuring the high quality and comprehensive nature of care for all bleeding and other coagulation disorder patients.
The program was recently endorsed by NHF’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Council (MASAC). Established in 1996, The Partners™ in Bleeding Disorders Education Program is funded through an unrestricted educational grant from Baxter Healthcare Corporation.
