NHF hosted a successful inaugural benefit gala, the Spring Soiree, on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City. This cocktail reception paid tribute to three honorees who have made significant contributions to the bleeding disorders community:
Shari and Stephen Bender--Inspiration Award
Robert R. Montgomery, MD --Leadership in Research Award
Novo Nordisk, Inc.--Corporate Leadership Award
The event raised more than $365,000, with 200 guests in attendance. Highlights of the evening included: Alex Borstein, acclaimed actress, writer, and comedian, who sang three creative songs connecting comedy to hemophilia; Mike Woods, meteorologist for Fox 5’s “Good Day New York,” who presided as Master of Ceremonies; and a fun live auction with six outstanding prizes.
NHF is also pleased to recognize the outstanding commitment of its Spring Soiree Co-Chairs, Ken Trader and Kenny Moskowitz, and its Leadership Committee Chair, Patrick McMullan.
