The Red Tie Soiree Heads to San Francisco
Ticket sales for the mid-October event close on Sept. 30

September 29, 2022, — San Francisco, Calif. — On October 15, the Red Tie Soiree, a yearly gala hosted by the National Hemophilia Foundation, is back in-person for the first time in three years. And, for the first-time ever, the event heads to the West Coast, welcoming patrons to the historic Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco.

This year’s event features powerful stories of community partnership, progress, and hope, including those of three special honorees. John Cunningham, CEO of the National AIDS Memorial, will receive the Inspiration Award for his ongoing partnership and support of the many community members and families impacted by HIV/AIDS. Karen Fulton Holine – whose son Jason passed of HIV/AIDS complications from a blood transfusion – and Leah Ogden Adams, an advocate for community awareness, will receive the Ambassador Award.

The Taylor family of Wyoming – parents Lucas and Maggie, and son Teddy (who was diagnosed with severe hemophilia A at birth) – will highlight their powerful story of rural access and care. Additionally, the Red Tie Soiree is especially honored to welcome the taped remarks of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who will share powerful words noting the resilience and strength of the inheritable blood and bleeding disorders community.

“NHF is thrilled to bring the Red Tie Soiree to the West Coast,” said Director of Individual Giving, Maureen Parsons. “It’s an honor to be able to showcase the many families and individuals out west who have made such a remarkable difference for the entire community.”

The event will feature a sit-down dinner, drinks, opportunities to connect with community members, and an entertaining program that includes a silent auction. (Individuals can participate in the silent auction virtually even if not participating in the event in-person). Featured items include a 5-night stay in a luxury ski chalet in Jackson Hole; two suite-tickets to a Warriors vs. Clippers basketball game; a virtual meet and greet with actor James Lafferty, a vehicle maintenance package with San Francisco Acura & Honda, and more. Additional items will be released closer to the event date.

Ticket sales are open through September 30 and can be purchased here. If interested in donating an item to the silent auction, please contact Riley Breen. Members of the media interested in receiving a press pass to the event should email media relations lead, Ilana Ostrin.

NHF sincerely thanks the Visionary sponsors who have made the Red Tie Soiree possible: AscellaHealth, Bayer, BioMarin, Hemophilia Alliance, Novo Nordisk, and Takeda.
