The returning fundraiser steps into November with a brand-new sneaker design
NEW YORK – This GivingTuesday, November 29, 2022, the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) encourages people to give with “sole” during its Giving Shoesday fundraising campaign. This unique twist on GivingTuesday offers a pair of custom, special edition sneakers to those who donate $60 or more.
Donors who make a gift of $60 or more on November 29 will receive a pair of special-edition Converse sneakers, which feature a brand-new design this year. Those who give $150 or more will receive a pair of custom Nike sneakers. This unique offering is created in partnership with Takeda.
“Every single gift makes a world of difference to members of the inheritable blood and bleeding disorders community,” said Maureen Parsons, director of individual giving at NHF. “Regardless of size, each donation means progress toward research, educational programs, and advocacy initiatives that could change lives. NHF also wants to extend sincere gratitude to Takeda for their support of this important yet fun effort.”
This year, NHF hopes to raise $20,000 on GivingTuesday. As of press time, 2022 has hit the ground running, raising over 25 percent of its goal thus far. The latest shoe designs are inspired by the Giving Shoesday theme for 2022, “What Ties Us Together.” The campaign spotlights the remarkably strong bond among members of the blood and bleeding disorders community and their support systems, along with the ways in which NHF strives to connect people to resources to help community members thrive.
Giving Shoesday has been a popular tradition at NHF since 2020. These generous gifts given as part of the program help community members through a wide variety of programs and resources.
All design options for both the Converse and Nike shoes are available online. Once the donation has been made, NHF will follow up within 24 hours with an order form. Shoes can be shipped anywhere in the United States and are expected to ship between six and twelve weeks after ordering, depending on the pair of shoes requested.
